What problems will your loved ones face if you don't leave a will? 

The 2 main problems your loved ones will face if you pass away without a Will are:

1.   The Court will need to appoint an Administrator of your Estate to distribute your assets to your loved ones.  This process is more complicated, takes much longer and is more expensive than if you leave a Will.  Examples of the added cost and complication of getting the Court to appoint an Administrator are:

• Your loved ones will need to show the Court that they have made a real effort to try to find a Will.
• Your loved ones will need to show the Court that a search has been made for any illegitimate children.

2.   The Court can only appoint one Administrator.  This can lead to problems where there is more than one person with a right to apply to be Administrator (for example, you have more than one child), and your family can’t reach an agreement about who the Administrator should be.  This can cause family arguments and will cause delays and more expense.
