Signing Your Will

Congratulations, your Will is ready to be signed!

This is the last step at your end, so please make sure you follow these four instructions carefully:

1. Witnesses:

You need two people to witness you signing your Will. Both need to be over 18, of sound mind, and physically present at the time of the signing (they are not only witnessing you, but each other too!). Anyone mentioned in your Will cannot be a witness and neither can their partner or spouse.

2. Signatures:

Firstly, sign your signature on the final page where indicated. On the same page, each witness then signs their signature and writes their full name, residential address and occupation (don’t worry, it will be indicated where the witnesses need to sign).

3. Initials:

All three of you then need to initial every page of the Will, except the final one which you have just signed. It is best to initial in the bottom right hand corner of each page.

4. Date:

Write the date at the top of the cover page in the space provided, and then write the date again at the top of the following page.

And there you have it - you have created your Will! You will need to put your Will into safekeeping.
